Owner: Leasing and finance; (add the named subject-matter expert here).
At a glance
Reserve and pay the holding fee
On the booking platform a prospect completes the reservation form. The booking app does not take the payment itself: it creates the reservation in Portal, Portal returns a payment link, and the prospect is sent there to pay the holding fee (one week's rent). The paid reservation then appears in Portal for staff.
Rent, once a resident
- Charges originate in Qube and surface to the resident in the app, grouped into due, overdue and paid.
- One-off payments in the resident app run through SagePay, in a three-step flow (choose charges, go to the provider, return). On success the matching transaction is raised in Qube and any related notification is cleared.
- Recurring rent is collected by direct debit on Stripe subscriptions, with invite, reminder, ending and renewal emails through the cycle.
Rules & edge cases
- The one-off payment feature can be switched off centrally.
- Before creating a pending payment, the app checks the selected charges are real and works out the net amount owed.
- Direct-debit residents can be opted in or out, and their status shows against the tenancy.
